Bethany Adams

Bethany Adams came to the Asheville area a few years ago from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, inspired by our gorgeous landscapes and genuine people. Her areas of special focus are weddings, child portraiture, and musician photography. Bethany has a knack for artistic candid photography and atypical creative portraits.

Bethany’s artistic viewpoint is indelibly influenced by her experiences living in Berlin, Germany for four years. During that time, she acquired a unique and cherished way of obtaining insight from every aspect of our constantly growing and changing world. Bethany’s artistic goal is to remain ever-open to interpretation by allowing each image to develop organically and take on intuitive meaning.

Outside of photography, Bethany works in many different mediums from screen printing to knitting, and in July of 2010, she will open her own handmade gift and apparel business, Rhetorical Factory. In addition, she is passionate about supporting local artists, businesses, and community-building projects such as the Asheville's Kids Free Breakfast Program (to which she donates her photography services).

Other interests include: the musician Nick Drake, the movie "Pirate Radio," the author Paolo Coehlo, Herbal and Natural Healing, finding more ways to “go Green,” and running marathons. (In fact, Bethany will run a marathon in Athens, Greece this October. Go Bethany!)
